Community Guidelines
Last updated: 11 May 2026
SON Networks is built around culture, conversation, and respect. These Community Guidelines apply across our shows, comments, social channels, events, and any other space where you interact with us or each other. They apply to everyone — viewers, presenters, guests, crew, partners.
What we celebrate
- Honest, bold, culturally rooted conversation;
- Respect for the diaspora — across nationality, language, faith and generation;
- Lifting up Congolese creators, artists and stories;
- Disagreement done with dignity.
What we do not allow
- Hate speech & harassment — attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Threats & violence — any threat, incitement or glorification of violence.
- Sexual exploitation & child safety — any sexual content involving minors will be reported to the relevant authorities (including IWF / NCMEC where applicable).
- Doxxing & privacy violations — sharing private information about anyone without consent.
- Misinformation that causes real-world harm — health, electoral or safety misinformation.
- Illegal content — including content that infringes UK / EU law, intellectual-property rights, or trade-sanction rules.
- Spam, scams & manipulation — fake accounts, coordinated inauthentic behaviour, phishing, financial scams.
- Gore & shock content with no editorial value.
